C25K Repeat - W5D1 - Home after business trip

W5D1, 3°C, Sunny

Damn those company paid dinners.

Two week-long trips within three weeks, it's hard to keep up with the exercise routine when travelling. Long working hours, late dinner with the team, not much of my own time.

Saw the guy working on this with a chain saw and some hand tools over a few weeks in the summer. Nice job, JMT.

C25K Repeat - W4D3 - Sunny in California

Staying in the sunny California!  Have been waking up 5 AM due to the time differences.  Tried to go out but it's too cold in the morning and I didn't bring all that's needed for cold weather jogging.  Glad there is a gym in the hotel, tiny room but no one uses it at 5AM.  Jogging on treadmill is just not the same though.

Hill full of cacti, would hate to trip and fall at the top.

Palm tree?

C25K Repeat - W4D2 - Roads are still frozen

W4D2, 2°C, Sunny
It killed me or I killed it?  Ahem. It's not a competition, who's keeping track anyway.

Muddy and icy trails. Road salt on pedestrian path. I should probably get a pair of waterproof runners.

Odd that it's Saturday at noon, but I crossed paths with only a few dog walkers. I guess people are put off by the cold weather and muddy condition.
Not sure why D2 of the week is always the hardest day for me...

C25K Repeat - W4D1 - Empty Streets

W4D1, 3°C, Sunny

Family day Monday morning, roads were empty, no cars, no dog walkers, no joggers. If it wasn't for the smell of laundry, I thought I was jogging through a ghost town.

C25K Repeat - W3D3 - I don't know why I do this...

W3D3, -4°C, Cloudy

Skipping too many days in between the runs probably doesn't help with building up stigma or endurance. So instead of taking a nap like I always do in Friday afternoons, I put on my sneakers and other winter necessity then headed out for my 3rd run.

Brrr... it was COLD! Trails were icy. So dangerous. I should've put on the ice cleats. A bit of set back because of the icy trails.

C25K Repeat - W3D2 - boring treadmill run but let's keep going

Been snowing lots, roads are covered with few inches of snow. That leaves the gym as pretty much the only option for running.

W3D2, Treadmill run is boring.

C25K Repeat - W3D1 - Let's restart C25K!! Are you pumped!?!? Ready? Go!

I have been carrying this Thanksgiving/Christmas fat for too long. Time to get active, but sadly you can't just pick up where you left off when it comes to physical activity. It's been a little over 4 months since the last run and over a year since the first attempt for B210K, so a C25K repeat it is. I skipped W1 and W2, because, well, I am not THAT out of shape.

W3D1, -8°C, Sunny
Starting Weight: ░░░ "What is that?" you ask? LOL do you really think I'm going to put that here.
Thoughts going thru my mind: Gosh the snow on every surface is blinding, and my sunglasses are fogging up.  Are there jogging goggles that seal around the eye area? Can I wear swimming goggles?  That would look weird. What about UV blocking dark contact lenses? Is there such a thing? Wooo doggie! Haha doggie is dragging a stick bigger than him and the owner is falling behind, stumbling in the snow. Oh, another doggie! Saint Bernard rolling in the snow, cute. Why is the trail so empty? Am I crazy jogging on the snow covered trail? Despite the number of people moving into Aurora in recent years, the Nokiidda trails are kept fairly clean.  I'm thankful to have clean trails to jog and fresh air to breath.
After the run: Very tight calves and wonky right knee. Hope it will get better as I progress.  Felt really good, like I-can-run-another-W3D1 kinda of good, if it wasn't for the tight calves and sore knee.
